Shania Twain dares to pose naked during menopause to restore self-confidence
Shania Twain, a famous country-pop singer in the 90s generation, is attracting attention. She decided to pose naked at the age of fifty-seven after experiencing menopause.
She did this pose for her latest unmarried cover, Waking Up Dreaming. According to her admission, the pose helped cure a lifelong body image problem.
“This is my way of expressing my version of the truth. I am comfortable in my own skin, and this is my way of sharing that confidence,” Twain told People on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, quoted from Page Six, Thursday (22/12/2022 ).
According to him, everything will look fashionable if worn with confidence. “I’m a woman in her late 50s, and I don’t need to hide under my clothes. I can’t even explain how nice it is to do a nude photoshoot,” she added.
The singer of the song You’re Still The One admitted that he did not feel emotional about the changes that were happening in his body. “I just feel fine,” Twain said.
In the cover image, Twain covers her bare chest with her arms as she poses in a cowboy hat and a pair of colorful pointed-toe boots. Although the image may have shocked some fans, the Canadian singer has not once dressed defiantly in her career in the music industry.
“From the beginning, since the first music video, I have taken off my bra,” said the singer who decided not to wear a bra in the music video What Made You Say That, which was released in 1993.
Don’t want to go back
“My body was a lot firmer back then, though. As I got older, I started to feel a different kind of pressure, ‘Well, your boobs aren’t as plump as they used to be. Your skin isn’t as firm as it used to be. Maybe you should start covering it up a bit more,'” Twain babbled.
Coating himself under various clothes, he confessed his ‘courage was dull’. After deciding to pose openly, he also vowed not to ‘retreat’ to his insecure self.
“I embrace my body as it changes, the way I should have from my childhood to my teens, the way it should have been when it was toned in my 20s and 30s, to now my body is menopausal. I’m not going to be ashamed of that . I want to be brave about it, and I want to share that courage in my art,” he says.
Twain also kept his promise when he appeared on the red carpet of the 2022 People’s Choice Awards in a dreamy, leopard-print dress. She wore a hood, black velvet skirt, semi-transparent sleeves, and an opening on her flat belly. Her outfit was reminiscent of her iconic style from the music video That Don’t Impress Me Much, which was released in 1998.
The decision to pose naked was also taken by Alicia Silverstone. The Clueless star was naked and wearing only faux leather boots to promote vegan cloth that she claims is more sustainable as part of PETA’s new campaign.
“If I need to be naked for you to care about animals, that’s what I’m after,” Silverstone, who is now forty-six years old, says in a campaign video, quoted by Page Six.
“I’ve never been naked on TV, in movies, no, never, no, but I did for PETA because that’s what matters most to me,” said the Kind Mama author.
“I prefer to be naked rather than wearing (material from) animals,” added the Aerosmith music video star.
He denied the discourse that said the use of animal skins was better for the Earth. He explained that what users of animal skin products do not realize is that there are many resources used to process animal skins, ranging from water, food, to petroleum for transportation.
“The amount of energy that goes into making skin is incredible. It’s not sustainable. Earth can’t handle it,” Silverstone continued.
Vegan Since Young
The former teen idol also posed with a cactus to encourage people to buy vegan skin types. “DON’T BE A CHEATOR,” the PETA image states. “Go Vegan. Just buy cactus, mushrooms, or apple peels!”
As previously stated, Silverstone is not the first time she has gone completely naked for a campaign she likes. In 2019, she took off all her clothes for a PETA campaign calling for an end to wool yarn.
His campaign material at that time was displayed on the Times Square billboard. Likewise with this latest campaign which is planned to be broadcast right when the 2023 New Year’s Eve ball falls.
Silverstone is known to have been vegan since 1999 when he was 21 years old. He has since consistently adhered to a meat-free lifestyle.
In 2018, the creator of the plant-based cookbook disclosed his family’s vegan diet, which he claims is keeping his son, Bear Blu (11), healthy. “He’s not
never took drugs in her life,” Christopher Jarecki’s ex-wife told Page Six at the time.
