Fire and rescue teams from two counties spent hours on Sunday fighting a house fire in Laconia.
Around 2:30 a.m., Lakes Region mutual fire aid dispatch began receiving calls about a fire on Bay Street. Along with Lakes Region fire and rescue teams, Belmont and Gilford firefighters were also requested.
A few minutes later, a police officer told dispatch the fire was “fully involved.”
The communications center also reported seeing smoke and flames and a second alarm was quickly rung. Laconia and Weirs station coverage was also requested.
Another Gilford engine as well as Belmont, Franklin, Holderness, Meredith, Northfield, and Sanbornton firefighters and EMTs were called in to help. Eversource was also notified about the fire.

Due to the freezing temperatures, fire command requested additional lines be set up from other locations around the home to get water to the fire.
At just before 3 a.m., a third alarm was struck. Firefighters and EMTs from Bristol, Center Harbor, Concord, Gilmanton, Moultonborough, and New Hampton were then requested to assist and cover the city.
About an hour and 15 minutes later, a fourth alarm was struck, bringing in more firefighters from Alton and other communities.
